Week 41 (October 02 – October 08) – MJ’s Running in 2022

Welcome to the forty first week of running for the year 2022.

In today’s fast-paced world, it’s easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of our daily lives. We often find ourselves constantly running from one task to another, barely taking a moment to pause and reflect. However, there are times when we need to recognize the importance of slowing down, recharging, and allowing ourselves the luxury of taking a break. In this blog post, we will discuss the significance of stepping back and reflect on the week of October 02 – October 08, during which we embraced the concept of self-care.

In a society that often glorifies busyness, it’s crucial to acknowledge the power of rest. Taking time off to relax and recharge can have a profound impact on our mental, emotional, and physical well-being. The week of October 02 – October 08 served as an opportunity to prioritize self-care and indulge in activities that brought us joy, peace, and tranquility. Whether it was spending quality time with loved ones, enjoying a good book, or simply taking a leisurely walk in nature, these moments of rest were essential in rejuvenating our spirits.

Stepping away from our usual routine provided the perfect environment for reflection and gratitude. During the week of October 02 – October 08, we took the time to reflect on our accomplishments, challenges, and personal growth. We celebrated our achievements and acknowledged the lessons learned from the obstacles we faced. Expressing gratitude for the blessings in our lives allowed us to cultivate a positive mindset and appreciate the things we often take for granted.

When we’re constantly engaged in a whirlwind of activities, it’s easy to lose touch with our passions and interests. However, taking a break allowed us to reconnect with the things that truly bring us joy. Whether it was pursuing a hobby, revisiting a neglected project, or exploring a new creative outlet, we reignited the spark within us. This rekindling of passion provided us with a fresh perspective and a renewed sense of purpose as we entered back into our regular routines.

Taking a break also highlighted the significance of setting boundaries and practicing self-discipline. By stepping back, we learned to say no to commitments that didn’t align with our priorities and values. This awareness enabled us to create a healthier work-life balance, ensuring that our energy was focused on what truly mattered to us. Establishing boundaries is crucial for maintaining our overall well-being and preventing burnout in the long run.

The week of October 02 – October 08 was a valuable reminder of the importance of taking a break and embracing self-care. By prioritizing rest, reflection, gratitude, and reconnecting with our passions, we were able to return to our regular routines with a renewed sense of purpose and vitality. Remember, it’s okay to take a step back and allow ourselves the space to recharge. By doing so, we can ultimately lead more fulfilling and balanced lives.

May 28, 2019 – Mummy Pappa USA visit, Westland, MI, USA

Traveling across continents is always an exciting adventure, and it becomes even more special when loved ones are involved. Recently, my parents embarked on a remarkable journey from our hometown in Patansaongi to visit me in the United States. This long-awaited trip was filled with heartfelt reunions, new experiences, and precious moments together. Join me as I share the delightful tale of my parents’ USA visit and the joy it brought to our lives.

Their journey began with a train ride from our hometown in Patansaongi to Vapi, Gujarat. Vapi holds a special place in our family as it is where my youngest paternal uncle and his family reside. The anticipation of meeting family members they hadn’t seen in a while added to my parents’ excitement. They spent a couple of days in Vapi, cherishing quality time with loved ones and creating lasting memories.

With the love and warmth of family lingering in their hearts, my parents bid farewell to Vapi as my uncle kindly dropped them off at the Mumbai airport. As they embarked on the next leg of their journey, they carried a sense of anticipation and wonder. The bustling Mumbai airport was abuzz with activity as they prepared to board their flight to Chicago with a stopover in Delhi.

For me, their visit held a deep significance. As a child, I had always dreamt of sharing my life in the United States with my parents and allowing them to experience the Western lifestyle firsthand. Their arrival in the States made those dreams come true, filling my heart with immense joy. Seeing them step off the plane, wearing simple yet endearing attire, reminded me of their down-to-earth nature and the values they instilled in me.

Upon landing in Chicago, we embarked on a road trip together, driving for a couple of hours to reach my home in Westland, Michigan. The journey was filled with laughter, stories, and anticipation of the days to come. Finally, as the evening settled in, my parents could relax and drift off to sleep, excited for the adventures that awaited them in the coming days.

Week 39 (September 18 – September 24) – MJ’s Running in 2022

Welcome to the thirty ninth week of running for the year 2022.

As a dedicated runner, I understand the importance of listening to my body and allowing it to recover when necessary. This week, from September 18th to 24th, 2022, I made a conscious decision to prioritize rest and give my body the break it needed. Join me as I share my running weekly summary, highlighting a week of rejuvenation and self-care.

September 18th to 24th marked a departure from my usual running routine. Instead of hitting the pavement, I chose to honor my body’s signals and embrace a week of rest. Understanding that rest is an essential part of any training plan, I welcomed this opportunity to recharge both physically and mentally.

During this week, I focused on other aspects of my well-being, knowing that a break from running doesn’t mean a break from self-care. I prioritized getting enough sleep, nourishing my body with healthy meals, and engaging in gentle activities like stretching and yoga. By nurturing my body and mind, I aimed to foster a sense of balance and prepare for the challenges ahead.

The break from running allowed me to reflect on my running journey thus far and set new goals for the future. I took the time to evaluate my training approach, reassess my priorities, and consider areas where I can improve. It was a period of introspection that fueled my motivation and rekindled my passion for running.

While not running for an entire week may initially seem challenging, I chose to embrace the process and trust that rest would ultimately benefit me in the long run. I reminded myself that taking a break is not a setback but rather an opportunity for growth and resilience. By honoring my body’s need for rest, I acknowledged that rest is an integral part of progress.

As this week of rest and recovery comes to an end, I feel a renewed sense of energy and excitement. I am eager to return to my running routine, refreshed and ready to tackle new goals. I understand that sometimes the greatest strides forward are made during moments of rest, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to prioritize my well-being.

See you next week!

On this beautiful morning, I laced up my running shoes and set off for a 3.1-mile run. The weather was perfect, with a cool breeze gently brushing against my face. September 15th – 3.1 miles:
Four days later, I eagerly headed out for another 3.1-mile run. However, today proved to be a bit more challenging than I anticipated. The weather was ideal, and my energy levels were high. As I began the run, I focused on maintaining a steady pace, knowing that endurance would be key. May 08, 2019 – Westland, MI, USA

Traveling has always been a source of excitement and wonder for me. Every journey brings with it new experiences, memories, and the thrill of exploring the unknown. One such memorable trip was my travel back to Westland, MI, from my hometown of Patansaongi. Join me as I recount the fascinating details of my journey, which began on May 8th, 2019.

My journey started with a flight from Nagpur to Delhi, followed by another flight from Delhi to Chicago. Although long-haul flights can be exhausting, the anticipation of reaching my destination kept me energized. However, a 20-hour layover in Delhi provided me with an opportunity to explore the vibrant city.

During my layover, I decided to venture into the bustling streets of Mukherjee Nagar. This area is known for its thriving community of students pursuing civil services like IAS and IPS. I was captivated by their determination and the vibrant atmosphere surrounding their preparation. It was a unique experience, and I couldn’t help but be inspired by their dedication.

To make the most of my layover, I treated myself to lounge access at the Delhi airport. It turned out to be an excellent decision. The lounge provided a haven of comfort, where I indulged in delicious food, took a refreshing shower, and even caught up on some of my favorite shows. It was a much-needed respite before continuing my journey.

Unfortunately, not everything went smoothly during my travels. I experienced some frustration with Air India’s handling of the boarding process. Passengers were constantly being asked to rearrange their seats, as family members were not seated together. However, amidst the chaos, I reminded myself to remain patient and adaptable.

Furthermore, I was slightly stressed about my H1 visa process, as my employer had filed it while I was away attending my sister’s wedding. To my relief, the immigration process at the airport went smoothly, and I encountered no issues. Surprisingly, my H1 visa not getting picked up turned out to be a blessing in disguise, as it allowed me to attend my sister’s wedding without any hindrance.

Upon reaching Chicago, I rented a car to embark on the final leg of my journey to Westland, MI. Driving through the American landscape was a dream come true. I reveled in the freedom of the open road, relishing the sights and sounds that unfolded before me. It was a month-long wait finally culminating in the joy of experiencing the American dream firsthand.

Traveling from Patansaongi to Westland, MI was an adventure filled with ups and downs, unexpected surprises, and moments of pure joy. From exploring the vibrant streets of Mukherjee Nagar to indulging in a luxurious layover at Delhi airport, and finally, experiencing the American dream on a road trip, every aspect of the journey left an indelible mark on my memory. These are the experiences that make travel so fulfilling and remind us of the vastness and beauty of our world.

April 26-28, 2019 – Bangalore, KA, India

In April 2019, I embarked on a memorable journey to Bangalore, Karnataka, accompanied by my second sister, Shubhu Tai. The excitement was palpable as we boarded our flight from Nagpur to Bangalore. For Shubhu Tai, it was her inaugural flight, making the trip even more special and memorable.

The purpose of our visit was to see my first sister, Minu Tai, who had recently settled in Bangalore after her wedding. I had not seen her new home before, so this trip held a sense of anticipation and excitement for me. It had been nearly three years since I last set foot in Bangalore, as I had left the city to pursue my studies in the United States, so the nostalgia was already setting in.

During our stay, we indulged in the culinary delights that Bangalore had to offer. We dined at popular eateries like Biergarten, where we relished delectable food and experienced the vibrant atmosphere. We also made it a point to savor the authentic Bangalorean breakfast at some renowned local establishments, immersing ourselves in the flavors and traditions of the city.

Apart from gastronomic adventures, we explored the city’s shopping scene, dedicating time to browse through the bustling markets and trendy stores. It was an opportunity to pick up souvenirs and gifts for loved ones while immersing ourselves in the vibrant ambiance of Bangalore.

One of the highlights of our trip was a visit to Nandi Hills, where we witnessed a breathtaking sunrise. As the first rays of the sun illuminated the landscape, we were captivated by the stunning beauty that unfolded before our eyes. The serene atmosphere and panoramic views created a sense of tranquility and awe, leaving an indelible mark on our memories.

As our short but eventful journey to Bangalore came to an end, I couldn’t help but feel a deep sense of nostalgia and gratitude. It was a trip that allowed me to reconnect with my family, explore the city I once called home, and create lasting memories. This visit to Bangalore in April 2019 will forever hold a special place in my heart, a cherished memory that takes me down the lanes of time.
