Hey there, friends! As we step into a brand-new year filled with endless possibilities, I wanted to take a moment to share with you how I welcomed the year 2020. It was a day filled with adventure, gratitude, and the company of cherished friends.
Unlike the traditional New Year’s Eve celebrations that often extend into the wee hours of the morning, my close-knit group of friends and I decided to do something a little different. We all have kids, which made late-night parties a bit of a challenge. So, we opted for a daytime adventure to kick off the year on a high note.
We embarked on a short but enchanting hike at the nearby Mulberry State Park, and what made it even more magical was the thick blanket of snow that covered the landscape. Now, I must confess, I had never hiked in the snow before, and it was an experience that left me in awe.
The pristine white snow glistened in the gentle Michigan sun, creating a breathtaking winter wonderland that seemed straight out of a fairy tale. The best part? It didn’t feel as bone-chillingly cold as I had anticipated. The camaraderie of my friends and the beauty of the natural world around us kept us warm from within.
As we trekked through the snow-covered trails, I couldn’t help but feel like I was in a dream. The pictures we took turned out even more spectacular than I had expected, capturing the sheer beauty and serenity of the moment.
We completed a small loop within the park, but it wasn’t about the distance we covered; it was about the memories we created. Along the way, we laughed, shared stories, and expressed our hopes and dreams for the year ahead. It was a time of reflection and gratitude for all that we had accomplished in the year that was coming to an end.
Looking back on 2019, I couldn’t help but feel thankful for the wonderful life I have. I had achieved many of the goals I had set for myself, and I was surrounded by friends who brought joy and adventure into my life. It was a year of growth, learning, and countless cherished moments.
As we bid farewell to 2019 and welcomed 2020 with open arms, I couldn’t be more excited about the year ahead. With the support of my amazing friends and the beautiful memories we created on that snowy hike, I knew that 2020 was going to be nothing short of awesome.
