Welcome to the forty fifth week of running for the year 2022.
As dedicated runners, we often find ourselves caught up in the pursuit of consistent progress. We set goals, create training plans, and strive to improve our performance with each passing week. However, sometimes life throws unexpected challenges our way, forcing us to deviate from our well-laid plans. This blog post delves into my running journey during Week 45 (October 30 – November 05), a week in which I made a conscious decision to embrace rest and reflect on the importance of listening to our bodies.
Week 45 was meant to be another chapter in my running journey, with a meticulously planned training schedule awaiting me. However, life doesn’t always adhere to our plans, and unforeseen circumstances led me to a decision that was both difficult and necessary: I decided to take a break from running for the entire week.
Week 45 served as a much-needed reminder that running is not just about miles logged or personal records broken. It is a holistic journey that encompasses our physical, mental, and emotional health. As I resume my running routine, I plan to incorporate more flexibility, self-care, and active recovery periods into my training plan. This will help me maintain a healthy balance and avoid falling into the trap of overtraining.
See you next week!
