After a disappointing 10th week, it is time to gear up and do some serious running. Let’s see how this week goes.
Day 67 – 03/08/2021 – 1844/299
The first run of the week and I continue to experiment with my running route through Northville Downtown.
For this run, I took a long U-turn through the Downtown area to get more distance in for my run. This run was extremely beautiful because of the weather and 60F temperature. The high temperature helped me run on shorts and T-shirt and I couldn’t have been happier. During the last stretch of the run, I saw someone running behind me, and motivated me to run faster at 8′ speed, which helped me finish the run quicker than I thought.
Day 68 – 03/09/2021 – 1840/298
The second run of the day and lovely feeling to run on two consecutive days.
I wanted to run more today, but had to limit myself at 5K distance to get back home in time as I had some evening plans. I was glad that I could run faster than I thought (again) thanks to the lovely weather and 55F temperature. Last week, I remember going out for a run within two hours of my lunch time, which didn’t work well. Today, I waited for more than two and a half hours before heading out for a run, which helped me keep my pace under 10′ which is always a good feeling.
Hope, the weather stays like this throughout the week and I get to go out for more runs.
Day 69 – 03/10/2021 – 1837/297
The awesome Michigan weather continued for the third straight day and helped me run for the third consecutive day.
For this run, also, I took the same route and finished the same distance like yesterday. Today, I was a little faster thanks to a fellow runner, who overtook me during the last mile of the run. As soon as she overtook me, an inner competitive voice called on me and asked me to push for more. It was a harder thing to do, especially after reaching almost to the end of the run; But, having run more than 1,000 miles over the last year or more, helped me overcome that fear mentally and I could translate it physically.
I was glad to run faster and finish my run at an elevated heart rate. It was a good run.
Day 70 – 03/11/2021 – 1834/296
What an awesome week with a lovely Michigan weather. I had to wait till the end of the day to go out for a run. I used the same route, which goes through the Northville Downtown, for this run. I wanted to go for a longer distance, but had to limit myself to a 5K as I had some evening engagement to take care of.
Anyway, before starting the run, the Strava watch on my Apple Watch wasn’t working with me, so I had to use the Apple Watch’s workout app to track my run.
Before you go, please check out the week number 11 highlights. I finished 14.3 miles this week, bringing the distance to cover in 2021 to 1833.8 miles, that’s 6.23 miles every single day for the remainder of the year!
See you next week!
