Week 50 was somewhat good. With 67 more miles to cover in the next 10 days, it’ll be a challenge and I am up for it.
Day 1 – Sunday, December 20, 2020 – WFH Day 279 – 67 more miles to go
Sunday turned out to be a quite busy day to take care of some last minute preparations before moving in. I moved my stuff yesterday and today was the official moving in day for me.
It felt strange leaving Monika, Anupam, and kids but felt right thing to do and become an adult in the correct way! 🙂
Day 2 – Monday, December 21, 2020 – WFH Day 280 – 54 more miles to go
Monday brought in some work but that didn’t deter me from going out for a long run and was happy to finish my 14th Half Marathon.
The route that I took was somewhat new, which helped mentally a lot to focus on my running instead of worrying about what was going to come after the next block.
I could finish the HM distance in 2 hours 27 minutes which was a respectable time during the morning cold weather.
With the Half Marathon under my belt, I need 54 more miles to cover in the coming days. Let us see what it goes.
Day 3 – Tuesday, December 22, 2020 – WFH Day 281 – 54 more miles to go
After the Half Marathon yesterday, I took the rest day today and it totally helped me relax my sore muscles and come back stronger.
54 more miles and just a few days left.
Day 4 – Wednesday, December 23, 2020 – WFH Day 282 – 41 more miles to go
Today was a repetition of Monday. I woke up at almost the same time and today marking the last working day for the year, I was excited to go out for one more long run in the week.
Fortunately, this long run turned out to be one more Half Marathon effort and I could complete my 15th HM of 2020 in 2 hours 30 minutes. It was colder than day before yesterday but loved the feeling of being outdoors on my own and not thinking too much about anything and just run.
This Half Marathon brought the miles to 41 more miles and I am excited as the target is looking closer than it was a couple days ago.
Day 5 – Thursday, December 24, 2020 – WFH Day 283 – 41 more miles to go
After the Half Marathon yesterday, I figured it was sane to take the rest day today.
I still have a week left and 41 miles seem doable in that time.
Day 6 – Friday, December 25, 2020 – WFH Day 284 – 41 more miles to go
Merry Christmas, everyone!
With all the crazy things that we witnessed in 2020, celebrating Christmas with family was special and magical. We tried surprising kids with all the gifts in their wish list, kept them under the Christmas tree at night and captured those beautiful moments.
Kids were happy with their gifts and I was appeased to find out that the first gift that they played with was the chess board.
After the morning breakfast, it was time to head to Maybury State Park to keep the family tradition alive and we hiked for almost 30 minutes. Though it wasn’t long, I wasn’t prepared for the cold Michigan weather and was shivering throughout the hike. But, it was worth it as I got to spend time with Monika, Anupam, and kids.
Needless to say, I couldn’t go out for a run today and I have started to realize that the target of 41 miles is looking a little bit far than it was a couple days ago.
Day 7 – Saturday, December 26, 2020 – WFH Day 285 – 41 more miles to go
The last day of the week and I took care of groceries and other important fixes at home. I wanted the home to look nice and presentable as I am expecting a company for the next few days.
I had to run from one store to the other and finally cooking the dish that I like to cook – Chicken curry. I spent the whole day and evening doing this and finally took a sigh of relief at the end of day. It was a good day; A rest day, but a good day!
This brings us to the end of this week. I would have loved to go for more distance, but I couldn’t. I am just focused on the next few days and hoping that I would get some time to finish the remaining 41 miles.
Before you go, please check the weekly highlight.
& the countdown
weeks to go: 1
miles to go: 41
See you next week!
