Week 49 was something I was happy about. Week 50? Let’s find out!
Day 1 – Sunday, December 13, 2020 – WFH Day 272 – 84 more miles to go
The first day of the week and even though I have 84 more miles to cover in the next 17 days, I took a rest day.
I ended up spending the whole day moving my stuff in my new home and trying to put different pieces together. It was an amazing feeling to see everything coming together nicely.
Day 2 – Monday, December 14, 2020 – WFH Day 273 – 78 more miles to go
Today came the first run of the week and it couldn’t have been better.
Running in a new neighborhood and atmosphere gives you that “suspense” feeling when you don’t know when your feet are going to take you. This is exactly what happened today. At the start of the run, I wasn’t sure which route I was going to take and distance I was planning to finish. I just let my feet guide me and take me to wherever the moment and my heart felt right.
Turned out, my heart wanted to finish a 10K distance, and to do that, I had to cover at least a 3 mile distance from my home. As soon as I realized that I have finished 3 miles, I took a right on the next intersection and ran my way back home. The weather was cold and I had 3 layers on my body, which helped tremendously, because it was windy and chilly at the same time. I could finish 6.4 miles and brought the distance to cover to 78 miles.
Day 3 – Tuesday, December 15, 2020 – WFH Day 274 – 67 more miles to go
I wanted this day to be repetition of yesterday or even better and was glad that it went like that.
Just before lunch, I really wanted to finish a quick 5K, but had to cut short that distance to 1 mile due to a last minute meeting. After the meeting, it was business as usual, with lunch and everything else.
It was until 4PM when I finally got a chance to put down my laptop and go out for a long run. I took the same route as yesterday but instead of turning at the intersection like yesterday, I just kept going straight. This helped me cover more than 6 miles, but I didn’t imagine the distance totaling 10 miles. By the time I was done, it was pitch dark and I had to use my phone’s flashlight to maneuver. It felt extremely good to cover 10 miles in 1 hour 45 minutes, which has been a good time and pace for me.
This run brought down the distance to cover to 67 miles now.
Day 4 – Wednesday, December 16, 2020 – WFH Day 275 – 67 more miles to go
It snowed the whole day, so I avoided going out for a run and took a rest day after running 17 miles in two days.
I think it was a smart move. 67 more miles to go and only 2 more weeks left now.
Day 5 – Thursday, December 17, 2020 – WFH Day 276 – 67 more miles to go
Second day of snow in a row. I cleaned the driveway for the first time and was evidently tired after 20 minutes of snow plowing with my snow shovel.
Obviously, I couldn’t or didn’t go out for a run. I felt bad, but it was better than sustaining an injury, correct?
Day 6 – Friday, December 18, 2020 – WFH Day 277 – 67 more miles to go
Skipped a run today as well. The target seems just a little out of reach, but I am hopeful that I will get there.
Day 7 – Saturday, December 19, 2020 – WFH Day 278 – 67 more miles to go
Ended the week on a low note. 67 more miles to go in just a couple weeks. It sounds daunting but completely doable. Fingers crossed.
On a personal note, we celebrated Mr. Aryan’s 9th birthday. It was awesome to see how much he loved his gifts and how happy he was to be surrounded by us. Do check out some pictures.
Before you go, please check the weekly highlight.
& the countdown
weeks to go: 2
miles to go: 67
See you next week!
