Week 48 was somewhat good, with more than 90 miles to go, let’s see how this week turns out.
Day 1 – Sunday, December 06, 2020 – WFH Day 265 – 91 more miles to go
The first day of the week and it couldn’t have started in a better way.
Sunday turned out to be a running Sunday for us. We headed to NHS for the run and the plan was to finish the 10K. In the morning, I was delighted to know the Half Marathon World Record getting smashed at Valencia. It acted as a fuel & I could finish the 10K distance in roughly 57 minutes. It was 5.5 miles when I looked at my Apple Watch and realized the pace I was running with, it just made me run faster, enabling me to finish faster than expected.
After finishing up my run, I checked with Monika and she still had a couple miles more to go, so I decided to accompany her and grab couple more miles before taking a break. These last couple miles acted as recovery for me and felt great after finishing the run. 91 more miles to go.
Day 2 – Monday, December 07, 2020 – WFH Day 266 – 91 more miles to go
The first day of the work week and I took a rest day today.
There were so many things to be taken care of, so couldn’t go out for a run.
Day 3 – Tuesday, December 08, 2020 – WFH Day 267 – 91 more miles to go
The second rest day of the week. Both master and second bedroom is done and I am happy with the progress I have made. Anupam helped a lot with many things.
Day 4 – Wednesday, December 09, 2020 – WFH Day 268 – 91 more miles to go
The new carpet is going in today & at the same time, had to pay more attention at work to address a couple pressing issues, skipped the run today and took the third straight rest day of the week.
Day 5 – Thursday, December 10, 2020 – WFH Day 269 – 91 more miles to go
This week is turning out not the way I would like it to, but with me being busy at work and taking care of the upgrades at the house, I don’t see more miles coming from me, at least for this week.
Day 6 – Friday, December 11, 2020 – WFH Day 270 – 88 more miles to go
The second run of the day came today. I was so glad that I finally got to go out for a quick before the evening was upon me.
During the afternoon, I was busy with work meetings and taking care of some stuff. I could shut down my laptop just before 4PM and headed outside for a quick run. The weather was pleasant and I could do with only a T-shirt and a short. Running in a new neighborhood, on the new track, and with new shoes prompted me to finish the 5K distance just under 30 minutes and I loved the feeling. The new neighborhood looked clad with both new and old buildings and loved roaming around.
Day 7 – Saturday, December 12, 2020 – WFH Day 271 – 84 more miles to go
One more 5K run before the end of this week. This run was unexpected as I didn’t have it in plan.
Today was a big day as it was the hardwood installation day at my place and I must say after spending 7 hours installing these hardwood floors, the place looks unrecognizable in a good way. I am happy with the way the new place is looking right now and I am looking forward to moving in next week.
The 5K run came after lunch. I took kids to NHS and when they were playing soccer, I finished my 5K and they were hungry by the time I was finished. The timing couldn’t be perfect and loved to end the week on a high.
The next three weeks are crucial and I must finish 84 miles to get to my goal of 1,000 miles of running in 2020. My thinking is I should treat this distance as 6 Half Marathons & one 10K. This is 7 days worth of work. Let us see if this strategy works.
