Well! Well! Well!

Here we are! One more time! Reflecting back on the sixth month of working from home.

This month was overshadowed by Grieving Raja. The sad part was I was 8,000 miles away from home, and there was nothing that I could have done. Losing someone in life puts your life in perspective and you start paying attention to important people and things in your life. This month was about that!

Let’s get started with this month, shall we?

MAJOR HAPPENINGS
600 miles of running
The one celebratory achievement of this month was completing 600 miles of running for the year 2020. I didn’t expect it would happen, as I wasn’t planning on running more than 100 miles. The good part about this achievement was that it came while running one of the Half Marathons. It was a sweet realization when I logged in my run, I was almost caught up by surprise.

Grieved Raja
This was one of the most shocking news for me. A few days before we lost Raja, I remember my Mom showing him to me. Little did I knew that it would be the last time I would see him. It was a hard and harsh reality to face and I took a good week’s time to recover from the shock. The next thing that I am going to talk about helped a lot to grieve Raja.

Camped for the first time
This was something I didn’t think I would be able to do this year. Ever since I came to Michigan in 2017, I always wanted to camp, as Michigan has many hot spots available for camping. Due to COVID19 outbreak, I thought the camp grounds will be available to book. Boy, I was wrong. We were not able to find any nearby campground for a couple weeks and then suddenly a campsite at AuTrain Lake Campground became available and we were quick to book it.
The temperatures were surely chilling and we were lucky that no mishap happened as we were camping for the first time. It was an amazing feeling and something that I would like to relive again and soon (if possible).

Celebrated Mr. Arnav’s birthday
Mr. Arnav turned 7 this September. He got the gifts that he wanted and the kind of cakes and decorations that he wanted. The most important thing for me as his godparent was that he was extremely happy and excited with everything that we had planned for him.
Nothing gave us more pleasure than seeing both of them smiling and happy!

COVID19 POSITIVE CASES IN MICHIGAN
The COVID19 Positive Cases were on the rise throughout the US and Michigan was no exception.

The numbers are skyrocketing as we are speak. Frankly, the precautions and all the social distancing is in place, but it doesn’t seem to work that effectively. The only way to get out of this mess is to have the working vaccine; Because, I am not sure if the humans will go back to the strict lockdowns and taking enough precautions.

Fingers crossed!

RUNNING
Talking about running, two things come to my mind.

What an awesome month for running. During these 30 days, I could run for 108 miles. This number is the proof of developing habits through small goals. When I started running, I didn’t plan for running 100 miles a month, but as the running habit was developed, the distance increased on its own – resulting in running more than 100 miles for the fifth month of working from home.

Like last month, I ran 3 Half Marathons during this month. Running a Half Marathon has been a quite frequent affair now and I don’t seem to get enough of it. I have already achieved the yearly goal of running 12 Half Marathons, so let’s see what number I stop at by December 31st, 2020.

BIKING
Biking has been neglected a little bit and I could finish 74 miles of biking. With the temperatures dropping down, I am sure I would bike less and try to run more.

HIKING
Hiking was no exception. I could hike only for only 21 miles. I am not happy with it, but can live with this number. Let’s see how the next month looks like.

THE CONCLUSION
WEAR A MASK! MAINTAIN SOCIAL DISTANCING!

& enjoy some pictures from this month.

Till then, take care & stay safe!
